If anyone watched version of "The Phantom of the Opera" filmed in 2004, Patrick Wilson, who played Raoul is from Norfolk. His grandmother supposed=ly lives here in BSG.

She and the Carter Family was born in Maces, VA which is in Scott County.

Francis Gary Powers - I don't know if he has been mentioned but he is from Wise County. He was a U-2 Pilot whose plane was shot down over the Soviet Union in the 60's.

LOG is Richmond based. Mark Morton (lead guitar), John Campbell (bass), and Chris Adler (drums) met while attending VCU together. They added Randy Blythe on vocals shortly after forming, and Willie, Chris's younger brother, joined on as 2nd guitarist later on.

Yes, the Carter family is Virginia (Hiltons, Scott County). Performances every Saturday night at The Carter Family Fold. There are five Carter family related historic sites in the area.

Sorry, but Jeff Davis was from Louisiana. Came to VA only during the war. Died and was buried in LA, but later reburied in Richmond, VA (Hollywood Cemetery).
